The age of artificial intelligence was heralded by Narrow AIs based on language models such as Autocorrect and face filters based on trained neural networks. The series Jonas manually applies the artist’s face to other faces that were statistically or conventionally deemed attractive. In this fashion, it mimics the process of automatic image beautification and plays with the bias inherent in machine learning models.
Each picture of the series is based on a specific face that has either been digitally synthesized, or has been statistically considered a close match to objective markers of physical attractiveness.
