This short film was produced during a residency at Medienfrische in Pfafflar, Tirol, in June 2024.

It is the first outcome of a larger artistic research project about a remote mountain, the Spitzkopf, which towers over the hamlet of Bschlabs. Informed by ethnographic fieldwork, it explores how the mountain directly and indirectly influences life in the valley. Initially striking as an "Ansichtsberg," a mountain whose primary significance is to be looked at from afar, interviews with local interlocutors reveal the invisible stories and contradictions inscribed in the mountain. Despite its inaccessibility, it continues to affect village life in regard to conflicting council borders, hunting, herding, forestry, firewood extraction, and avalanche mitigation, along the individual lives of valley inhabitants.
